What setting should you use to connect Hotmail to the Mail app in OS X?
If your a hotmail user and an apple mac user, you will want to connect mail app (the apple email client of OS X) to your hotmail account. All you need to know is what settings to use to connect your hotmail account, here they are...
Start the Apple Mac OS X mail app and enter you name.
The user name setting you enter into mail app will always be your hotmail address ending in @hotmail.com (see bellow)
Here are the other setting you will need to know for connecting hotmail to Mac Mail app in OS X:
On the first mail app setup screen:
Account Type : POP
Description : Windows Live
Incoming Mail Server : pop3.live.com
Username : <hotmail email address eg;
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Password : password for your hotmail
On the next Mail app setup screen:
Description : Windows Live
Outgoing Mail Server : smtp.live.com
Click the box: “Use Authentication”
Username : <hotmail email address eg;
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Password : password for your hotmail
Click done and then log onto your hotmail account in the OS X mail app. Enjoy!
