What is the right way to brush your teeth?
So, what IS the correct way to brush your teeth? Well, I'm quite sure there will never be a "RIGHT" way, but with common sense and a bit of science here at least is a "best practice" for getting your pearly whites clean.
Brushing teeth. We do it three times a day. So that must mean we know what we are doing right? Wrong. Usually we were taught to brush our teeth by our parents and you could hardly call them tooth brushing experts. So, for a better way to clean your teeth try this:
1. Give your teeth a quick brush with just water to remove bits of food and some plaque.
3. Brush with toothpaste thoroughly and rinse
4. Use mouthwash to rinse only every second or third day
5. If you have a toothpaste with low fluoride, then brush again with toothpaste and spit the excess toothpaste out so that the active ingredients can protect the teeth. Check the packing. If there is flouride in the toothpaste, don't leave it in your mouth, flouride is NOT good for you.
Don't be afraid to ask a dentist what they recommend. They are after all experts.
Feel fre to comment if you have anything to add.
